Respectfully, MOVE out my way!
Hey y’all!
I have been reading the book of Matthew, and it has been SO GOOD to me. I don’t know if this is my first time reading straight through it for myself, or if God has just opened my ears and eyes, but it has been such a sweet read.
There have been several things that have stood out to me. Honestly the entire book so far has just been hopping off of the page into my spirit! like YESSSSS!!!!
So last night I was reading and I got to a part and was like, this is about the 4th or 5th instance where (1) people be trying to block other people from getting to Jesus, or (2) you have to press in order to get your blessing from God.
I said to myself… seeeee this is why you can’t let people stop you and this is why you can’t be feeble…. like you have to WANT your healing, deliverance, blessing, joy, peace! You really have to FIGHT!
So this blog is to encourage you, using examples in Matthew, and show you that there are going to be times you need to ignore everyone else and what they talking bout and strive to get to Christ to lay hold on your miracle.
Let’s get into it!
Lets start with the woman with the issue of blood.
Matthew 9:20-22
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
It’s not stated specifically in Matthew, but because I know her story, I know that she had to press through masses of people surrounding Jesus to get a touch. In Luke 8:45, Peter says (paraphrasing of course) God there is a ton of people surrounding you, following you, leaning on you, touching you, and you want to know who touched you??
He didn’t understand the woman with the issue of blood took virtue. She had to work through a multitude of people to be healed! But 12 years with a disease…will make you MOVE them people out the way, respectfully.
The sleeping maid…
Matthew 9: 23-26
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
You cannot let peoples unbelief keep you from your miracle. God told them she was asleep and they laughed at him.
vs 25 says “when the people were put forth” That means the people were reMOVED! God had to MOVE them out the way so that he could work the blessing.
Next is the man with the withered hand…
Matthew 12:9-13
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
The Pharisees were so wrapped up in traditions, wanting to trap Jesus into doing something wrong…completely disregarding the man who needed healing. Like you really worried bout what day it is!!! Ive been withered my whole life. MOVE.
Sometimes there are people, desiring to be politically correct, in order of man, or worried about being “right” that they dismiss the hurt, the pain, the person in need of deliverance. Jesus cares for you and wants to see you set free! Don’t worry about peoples right way, you get to JESUS and let him tell you what to do!
The Woman of Canaan…
Matthew 15:21-28
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
This womans story! It is remarkable. This woman of Canaan asked Jesus to help, and he didn’t respond.
Some of you may have asked God for something, and it’s been quiet so you stopped asking.
Do you think she stopped. She had a daughter and she wanted to see her child delivered by any means necessary. So she kept asking.
Even the disciples asked Christ to send her away, because she was continuing to press!
God told her, I was sent to free the house of Israel (basically saying what do I have to do with you?) Then he told her It is not meet to take the Children’s bread and cast it to dogs!!
Nah Imma be honest!!! This would’ve probably been the end from me!
He said no twice after not answering… But do you think she stopped.
She said even dogs eat the crumbs from the masters table!!!!(PRESSSSED!)
That press, that MOVE to the disciples, that faith…got her daughter healed. It’s basically like….How bad do you want JESUS.
Now, the children…
Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
If you are someone BLOCKING…..Forbid them not. MOVE.
If you are someone being blocked…Christ said Come, so who are you going to listen to.
My last example is the blind men…
Matthew 20: 30-34
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
If these men would’ve listened to the multitude, they’d still be blind.
What you have to understand is these people were so tired of their situation, so hungry for a miracle, longing for deliverance…they didn’t care what it took. They didn’t let people, rules, correct posture, NOTHING! stop them.
So if you need Jesus, don’t be afraid to tell someone “Respectfully, MOVE out my way”.
With love
